Paul A RubinPaul A. Rubin's practice is focused on business bankruptcy, workouts and restructuring, distressed acquisitions, and commercial litigation, primarily in the debtor-creditor context.

Paul represents and advises lenders, debtors, trustees, hedge funds, distressed asset purchasers, insurance companies, acquirers of distressed debt, landlords, corporate directors and investment advisors in connection with complex restructuring and bankruptcy matters. His practice includes pre-bankruptcy planning and strategy, out-of-court restructurings and workouts, and counseling regarding the bankruptcy implications of transactions.

Paul has significant experience in a wide variety of litigation, including appeals, in federal and state courts, involving lender liability claims, preference and fraudulent conveyance actions, assignments for the benefit of creditors, lien priority disputes, lease re-characterization, and other claims that arise in the debtor-creditor context. He has handled several real estate bankruptcies and workouts, recovering collateral through both negotiation and litigation in the Bankruptcy Court, and negotiating and drafting cash collateral orders and plans of reorganization.

On the transactional side, Paul advises regarding purchases of assets from troubled companies and clients, debtor-in-possession financings, negotiates workout and forbearance agreements, and he has significant experience addressing potential insolvency issues affecting sophisticated transactions, including stadium financings. Paul has extensive experience concerning negotiations and issuance of non-consolidation opinion letters.

Paul has served as a mediator in many well-known bankruptcy cases, and he is a certified mediator on the panel of mediators for the United States Bankruptcy Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and for the District of Delaware. He has lectured on several bankruptcy and restructuring topics, including commercial loan workouts, valuation issues in bankruptcy, severance payments for executives of bankrupt companies, and the acquisition of distressed debt. He has also authored numerous articles for a variety of legal publications. Four of his articles have been cited in published judicial decisions. Paul is a Member of the Board of Editors of The Bankruptcy Strategist, he serves on the Advisory Board for the American Bankruptcy Institute's Asset Sales Databank and contributed toward its build-out. For several years, Paul has been recognized by Thompson Reuters' Super Lawyers as a top practitioner in Bankruptcy and Creditor/Debtor Rights. In addition, he has been frequently quoted in the media regarding bankruptcy-related topics.

Prior to forming Rubin LLC, Paul was a member of Herrick, Feinstein LLP for many years. He began his legal career as an associate at Dewey Ballantine. Paul is a graduate of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. While pursuing his law degree, he was a member of the Law Review and received the American Jurisprudence Award in Property.

Hanh V. Huynh

Hanh HuynhMr. Huynh focuses his practice on bankruptcy and creditors' rights. His experience includes representing debtors, secured creditors, and other parties-in-interest in numerous chapter 11 cases and out-of-court restructurings. He has advised parties in various large bankruptcy proceedings, and he has represented debtors in major successful reorganizations, including Northwest Airlines, Inc., Coyne International Corp., The Fuller Brush Company, Inc., and Ultra Stores, Inc.

Before joining Rubin LLC, Hanh was counsel in the Bankruptcy and Restructuring Group at a large New York law firm where he worked for nine years. Hanh previously worked in the Financial Restructuring Department of a major international law firm and a top law firm in the state of Connecticut.

Hanh is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Law, where he was a member of the Law Review. Before attending law school, Hanh served for three years as an infantryman in the United States Army and another three years in the Connecticut National Guard. Hanh is conversant in Cantonese.
